I haven't "speedpainted" in a while...and I'm oh-so rusty :(

Here's a WIP snapshot of my Angelina Jolie painting, on Photoshop
Almost 2 hours of work, sigh. I used to be more than halfway done~

And so that is why I'm practicing!

edit: after 5hours I decided to move onto another. :(

I'm going to do one of Aishwarya Rai

fine arts.

here's some of my old, old fine art pieces and some film photography (poorly scanned in, unfortunately)...I'm posting them as fillers because I've started painting again and those aren't as quickly "rendered" as my 3D projects... hehe.

B&W 35mm film: Kodak T400 (I believe)
Developed through an enlarger~

Finals. EEP.

Just a brief post.

Started modeling my head yesterday (been slacking a bit and playing around with the guy from my last post too much :X)

Right now I'm working on the flow of the mesh! Here's a snapshot!

...okay now, back to work~

//edit//

it is almost 7pm now...the above snapshot was from around 11am...here is an updated image of mah-heddd!

Added some more loops, formed my double eyelid and nose/nostril, and created the ear~
A few more tweaks and then I'll get to cleaning the mesh to make it all nice 'n neat. ^^

WOOPS.

Ah! I'm late, I'll double post this week~

Just been busy with finals and the end of my sophomore year at SVA. Starting thesis production next year, yikes! (but also yay ~)

Here's a dude I've been working on mainly to incorporate the use of more complicated rigs involving the use of a more-specific skeletal setup and multiple blendshapes...I'm in the processing of doing the last connections to the rig and then I shall animate him, but I'll show you a small playblast as a preview! Enjoy (:

Btw all these past projects are all in preparation for my final project, which will be my head modeled and speaking (like Euna). sooo yea~

(ahh it's not letting me post a video, so ill edit this post later and try again!)
EDIT// Here ya go! 4/21/11

MatchMover

Soooo, here's an attempt at motion tracking with MatchMover~

It's a bit shaky, but I learned from this that I should probably take more stable (or stabilized) footage and that upward pans are harder to track!

Maybe I'll try Boujou next time, I hear it's good. Overall it was fun (for me) doing the tracking part, I enjoyed rebuilding the surfaces of the piano, etc. and placing my old bear model into REAL LIFE!

Sorry for the bad blending, I rendered this out to mainly see how the shadow was after I tweaked the tracking a bit. (:

Do it stop motion for me, stop motion for me~

This was an assignment where we had to do a 30sec spot for our favorite toy~

I did this all by myself with a nikon d60 I borrowed from my school
...it was about 200-250 photos
edited and masked in photoshop
composited in after effects

Sooooo, since I love LEGOS I created a stop motion with them!!
ENJOY (:

(I know it's a bit dark)

Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa...Psycho Killa!

Talking Heads!

Meet my friend Euna, aka Bearbot (she's a dj and fellow comp. artist)
I decided to model her for practice because my final for my Comp. Animation class is to also model and animate a head, my own head.

Here's my model of her from those photos~ I think it looks like her!

Then I made her say the intro to I Like Big Butts by Six Mixalot, lol.
This is my first, rushed playblast with another head animation I did previously...
I'll post a follow-up video of a better one I'm already working on SOON!!

Oh and here's a snapshot of a dragon I'm modeling for practice as well...working on the wing right now~

S&H mess-around~

Sooo, I modeled this sloth not too long ago and meant to give it fur...

...these are my first attempts at using Shave and a Haircut (Joe Alters), let alone FUR gasp

Day 1:
Played with presets, got familiar with tools, fully "furred" him-
I call him RASTA-sloth

Day 2:
Got to know the brush, attenuate, and comb tools a little more, gave him a more polished look and added some variations/layers of color and fur~

The second day I actually re-did all the fur, because the first day I just selected him as a whole and applied hair. This made him harder to groom where the hairs overlapped like his armpit and neck-- so on my second try I applied the hair in sections by selecting faces and it turned out to be better and more efficient in taming his hurrr (hair). haha yay for trouble solving!

He's still not done!! But so far, he ain't too shabby righ? I'm having lotsa fun with this plug-in. (:
